2024 TRENDS

Airlines Are On The Move

The growth of low-cost airlines is reshaping air travel, making previously underserved destinations more accessible. A prime example of this trend is Avelo Airlines' introduction of the first and only nonstop service between Lakeland International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport. This service not only revives air travel in Lakeland after a decade but also positions the airport as a convenient alternative to the larger, busier airports in Tampa and Orlando. Starting from June 2024, Avelo will fly this route twice weekly, offering an affordable gateway at introductory fares starting at $72. This strategic move underscores the increasing appeal of low-cost carriers in connecting diverse regions while promoting local tourism and business, embodying the future of efficient and accessible air travel.

For April Fool’s Day, Frontier Airlines announced a $1 Fare sale for a new route to Bora Bora, however some on social media found the offer confusing because it was distributed as official news through the company’s channels. One person wrote “Fake giveaways are not a fun April Fools post for people.”

For travelers seeking an international journey, explore the world with United Airlines, leveraging the strong U.S. dollar for your next adventure. Enjoy near all-time high dollar strength in destinations like Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, Sweden, and South Africa. United stands out with extensive service offerings, including being the largest carrier to Japan and South Africa, and the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop flights to the Philippines from San Francisco. New routes include San Francisco to Manila and Tokyo/Narita to Cebu, alongside daily flights to key destinations across these countries. Whether you're drawn to the historic streets of Tokyo, the vibrant landscapes of the Philippines, the dynamic culture of Seoul, the serene beauty of Stockholm, or the rich diversity of South Africa

New Details On Disney Destiny from Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line announced the development of its next vessel, the Disney Destiny, with a traditional keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The ship, themed "Heroes and Villains," will join the fleet alongside the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, drawing from the rich tapestry of Disney's storied franchises such as "The Lion King" and "Hercules" to offer a nuanced narrative experience where guests interact with iconic characters. With unique design elements like Minnie Mouse depicted heroically on the bow, the Disney Destiny aims to merge storytelling with seafaring. Set for a 2025 delivery, it's part of Disney Cruise Line's fleet expansion, introducing new narratives and destinations to its sea-bound adventures.

EARTH DAY 2024

New Travel Trends To Celebrate The Planet

Earth Day serves as a global call to action for sustainability, and the tourism industry is responding by encouraging eco-friendly travel practices. A shining example of this is in Aruba, where visitors are urged to embrace the island's commitment to environmental conservation by consuming water sustainably. Thanks to a partnership with Water Sommelier Martin Riese, Aruba's tap water, known as "Paradise on Tap," is celebrated for its quality, derived from an extensive filtration of the Caribbean Sea. Travelers are encouraged to take the "Aruba Promise" to uphold eco-conscious principles and explore eco-friendly accommodations offering special water-themed packages. With initiatives like these, Aruba sets a benchmark for sustainable tourism, inviting visitors to enjoy its natural beauty responsibly, aligning perfectly with Earth Day's mission to protect our planet. While in Aruba, consider checking out the Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort which believes in creating unforgettable experiences for travelers looking to unwind in a tropical paradise. Picture this: a sun-soaked resort, endless activities, uninterrupted fun in the sun, and a lifetime of precious memories!

This Earth Month, Auburn, NY, invites travelers to celebrate the profound connection between Harriet Tubman, the iconic abolitionist, and the land she cherished. Tubman's legacy, rooted in her nearly fifty years of farming in Auburn, sets the stage for a series of events and activities designed to inspire and educate visitors on sustainable living and environmental stewardship. Explore the Harriet Tubman Home and the Seward House Museum to witness historical environmentalism in action, savor farm-to-table cuisine at local eateries like Elderberry Pond, support eco-conscious artisans at shops like Reuse Refuge, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Cayuga County through outdoor adventures. This Earth Day, join Auburn in a tribute to Tubman's enduring spirit of freedom and her deep respect for the earth.
